Up Close...

True "macro" shots require a special lens, and an awful lot of patience. I have the lens - the rather nice Canon 100mm f2.8 Macro - but sometimes the patience is lacking. Some of the shots in this gallery are "true" macro, some are simply close-up shots taken with a standard lens - most likely a Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 or the wonderful and budget-friendly canon 50mm f1.8 ("nifty fifty")...
